From Electrical Engineering to Web3 Growth—A Journey Fueled by Curiosity
I had high expectations for NFT Paris, and it delivered.
Two days of knowledge, meeting new people, and seeing friends again leave you wanting more.
I won't bore you again if you have already read my LinkedIn post with my key takeaways about the event. If you haven't, what are you waiting for? Click here.
Apart from this, I can say there is beauty in meeting and listening to new people. I'm energized by hearing founders, executives, and investors share knowledge.
I love that you have people who show interest in what you have to say at these events. This is something that I have seen happen in most Web3 events. Because the ecosystem is so protective and supportive of each other, people do want to help. They want to get to know you.
Before jumping into this week’s guest, whom you are going to love, by the way. I’m sharing some of my fav moments from NFT Paris.
Ok, now upwards and onwards (I'm pretty sure that's how you say it).
Meet Janina Vinklere: A Journey of Growth and Impact
If you’re in the Switzerland Web3 space, you’ve likely encountered Janina Vinklere. And if you haven’t… well, where have you been? (Trust me, she’s phenomenal.)
Janina founded Vividly Agency, which specializes in growth consulting for Web3, digital assets, and decentralized technology. She also leads marketing at FiCAS, a Swiss crypto investment boutique, where she manages the firm’s growth across all channels and regions.
She’s one of those people whose presence you feel when she enters a room. She carries this energy—like you know, you’re in the company of someone great. But what makes her even more special is how welcoming, open, and kind she is.
You know those people who draw you in—the ones you want to keep learning from? That’s Janina.
Janina didn’t start in Web3—far from it. With a background in electrical engineering, she first worked in digital transformation at ABB as a global tech leader. But the corporate world wasn’t where she saw herself long-term. Startups drew her in, where innovation isn’t a buzzword but a daily reality.
Fast-forward four years, and she’s consulted for over 55 Web3 businesses. She’s led growth strategies, helped onboard more users into the space, and worked to make blockchain practical and understandable. Her work is a major step toward bringing the next million people into Web3.
From Corporate to Startups: Chasing Innovation
Janina didn’t transition from corporate to startup overnight. She took steps to adapt to the fast-paced, unpredictable world, driven by curiosity, ambition, and the desire to be part of something bigger.
At ABB, she worked on digital transformation. Collaborating with teams in Silicon Valley and getting firsthand exposure to cutting-edge technology. But something felt off.
"I realized I didn’t want to be in the corporate world anymore. I wanted to be where things were actually being built, where innovation wasn’t just an idea but a reality."
So, she took the leap. At first, she started consulting for startups. Helping them scale and navigate growth strategies. Eventually, she went all in and launched her own growth strategy consultancy. Since then, she has worked with over 55 companies, helping them break into Web3, digital assets, and decentralized tech.
Her expertise goes beyond marketing and branding. She focuses on real adoption. Helping companies build useful, scalable, and accessible Web3 solutions. At the end of the day, her mission isn’t to talk about innovation—it’s to help companies make it happen.
A Surprise Recognition: Janina’s Journey to the Top 100 Women of the Future
Janina didn’t set out to chase awards—but sometimes, recognition comes when you least expect it. In January of last year, Tomaso di Bartolo, founder and CEO of Phygtl, invited her for an interview. Phygtl is an AI, AR, and Web3 platform that combines immersive experiences with blockchain. She immersed herself in the team for about six months. Contributing her expertise to their projects. Without her knowing, her colleagues at Phygtl submitted her nomination for the Top 100 Women of the Future. A recognition she only found out about when she received the official email.
"I didn’t know about my nomination until I received the email. It felt surreal." Janina recalls. Seeing the list in 2023, she had admired the women featured, never imagining she’d soon be among them. Knowing it wasn’t something she applied for made the honor even more special. It was a recognition from the people she worked alongside, a reflection of her impact.
Her work with US startups, global Web3 projects, and blockchain-AI marketing earned this title. She has also worked with teams in California, Southeast Asia, and Europe, building a reputation for turning innovation into real-world impact.
Onboarding the Next Million Web3 Users
Janina has set an ambitious goal. Helping one million people understand and adopt digital assets. But this wasn’t always the target—at first, she aimed for 100,000. “I thought that was already a big number, but then I realized I was limiting myself. Why not aim for a million?” she shared.
A large part of her mission revolves around education and accessibility. As a content creator, Janina reaches half a million people on LinkedIn each year. But content is one piece of the puzzle. She also collaborates with startups that bring blockchain into everyday life. Whether through payment solutions, digital ownership, or tokenization.
For her, the real challenge isn’t the technology—it’s the messaging. Too often, Web3 discussions focus on the technology's complexities instead of its actual value to users.
“If we want mass adoption, we need to stop talking about the technology and start talking about what it does for people,” she explained.
Her approach is simple: Make blockchain practical, accessible, and valuable. When it blends into everyday apps, people will adopt it without noticing.
The Trends Shaping Web3 Right Now
Web3 is always changing. What excites Janina the most? She’s focusing on three main areas that boost innovation and make blockchain easier to use:
🔹 Web3 Tools Simplified – “The space is still complex for most users. Yet, more platforms and layer-one protocols are creating 'building blocks.' This makes development easier and faster,” she said. For Web3 to scale, the entry barriers need to come down, and these tools are doing just that.
🔹 Stablecoins - Janina feels excited about how stablecoins will change cross-border payments. "Minimizing fees and increasing transaction speed is a game-changer,” she said. Adoption will skyrocket once payments become as easy as sending a text.”
🔹 AI & Web3 – Janina is passionate about this topic. She believes AI will make Web3 applications easier to use and more secure. “AI is changing how we use blockchain technology. It won't replace people, but those who don’t embrace it will lag behind.”
The Challenges of Web3 Adoption
Janina sees three major challenges standing in the way of mainstream Web3 adoption:
🔹 Complexity – “Most people don’t want to understand blockchain. They want to know what it can do for them.”
🔹 User Experience – “The tech is improving. But we need more intuitive interfaces that don’t scare people away.”
🔹 Trust Issues – “Web3 has had its ups and downs. To build trust, we need transparency and real use cases.”
Her take? Success won’t come from forcing people to understand blockchain. It will come when they gain from it without needing to think about the underlying technology. She points to examples like stablecoins for cross-border payments. Tokenized assets, making investing more accessible. And blockchain-securing supply chains.
“The real shift happens when people use Web3 because it works better, not because they feel the need to ‘get into crypto,’” she explained.
For Janina, the future of Web3 lies in seamless integration. When blockchain-powered solutions naturally fit into people’s daily lives, that’s when we’ll see true adoption.
Web3 & AI: The Perfect Combination?
Janina sees AI as a key driver in accelerating Web3 adoption. She believes AI is already essential. It automates processes, reduces inefficiencies, and makes blockchain easier for everyone to use.
🔹 AI-powered automation - AI is streamlining Web3 development by handling repetitive tasks. Allowing builders to focus on innovation rather than maintenance.
🔹 AI-driven UX for Web3 - Many Web3 applications still struggle with accessibility. AI has the potential to simplify user experiences. Making blockchain-based platforms as intuitive as traditional Web2 applications.
🔹 AI fraud detection - AI tools find fraud and enhance the safety of digital assets.
For her, the future of AI isn’t about replacing people—it’s about enhancing their capabilities.
Janina thinks that as AI and Web3 grow together, they will unlock great potential. This will help connect decentralized technology with everyday users.
Bringing Web3 to Life: Community, Events, and Real-World Impact
Janina leads the Web3 community and organizes major events like the Women in Web3 Global Summit and Web3Fest. Building a strong community isn’t just about gathering people; it’s also about fostering real engagement and creating a positive impact.
“No successful event happens alone. It's about bringing the right people together. We want to create a place where they can connect and grow,” she shared.
Organizing these events is no small feat. The Women in Web3 Global Summit was a team effort. It joined forces with Women in Web3 Switzerland and other key networks. The team worked hard to find a location, plan a strong agenda, sell tickets, and attract sponsors.
“It was almost a full-time job for a month,” she admitted, “but the response made it all worth it. The speakers loved it, the audience engaged, and we saw how much we need these spaces.”
Web3Fest aimed to make Web3 easy for everyone, from newcomers to seasoned pros. The event covered many different topics and included panel discussions, keynotes, and hands-on sessions.
For Janina, these gatherings are more than networking. They help build ecosystems. Web3 talent, investors, and thought leaders come together here. They share knowledge, support one another, and drive the space forward. She views these initiatives as key to Web3's growth. They help create more visibility and opportunities for women in the industry.
The Next Block
At Decoded, we have a fun tradition: each guest leaves a question for the next one without knowing who it will be. It can be about anything!
This time, the question was: "What are your top three crypto investments?”
Bitcoin: “It’s absolutely my favorite. It’s resilient, proven, and still the most important digital asset.”
Solana: "Offers fast transactions and low fees. It keeps evolving with new use cases."
Telegram’s Crypto Ecosystem: “Many ignore it, but it’s a major use case. With over a billion users, Telegram integrating crypto is a game changer. The platform is improving at a fast pace, and it has massive potential for adoption.”
Janina’s journey shows that curiosity, adaptability, and passion drive success in Web3. She helps startups, writes for 500,000 readers each year, and builds communities. Her mission is clear: to make Web3 easy and valuable for the next million users.
